Cut determines how a diamond catches light and sparkles. A well-cut 1ct diamond will look far more brilliant than a poorly-cut 1.5ct stone. Always prioritize an Excellent or Ideal cut grade. This is the one thing we never compromise on at Picasso.
Diamonds are graded D (colorless) through Z (yellow tint). The sweet spot for beauty and value? G to I. In a white gold or platinum setting, a G–H diamond looks absolutely colorless to the naked eye — and costs significantly less than a D.
Most inclusions (tiny natural imperfections) are completely invisible without a loupe. An SI1 or SI2 diamond is almost always eye-clean and offers tremendous value. You don't need internally flawless — unless it's deeply meaningful to you.
